There's a Spanish restuarant called
Las Maņas here in Antwerpen that I've dined at a few times during lunch.... guess around 6-8 times already. There's only 2 waiters there to take care of around 20 tables, a bartender and the boss...maybe one or two more floaties. It's not huge, but a fairly spacious restuarant/bar.
I kinda like the place. The food is yum. Think chickpea cabbage potato pork stew, thin pork chops grilled to perfection, aromatic mussels prawns clams calamari rice....hmm... :)
Meeeheheeee.... everytime I go there, I'm with the people from the company +/- client(s). And I'm always the only lady at the table. I think it must be a custom of that restuarant (though I've not actually witness that being done to another lady diner). You see, after the food is ordered, the waiter would bring out a little woven basket of bread and some plates. And he would set a plate in front of me, and place this chunk (which is the tip of what I know as the French bread...but I bet there's another name for it....esp in a Spanish restuarant). This chunk of bread has a slit across it, then the waiter unfolds the bread along the slit and ta-da!!! A heart!!
